The shift toward Renewable Energy Sources

Textile industries use a lot of fuel and energy to carry out their operations. That is because many processes are involved in manufacturing high-quality fabrics, and they consume immense power.

The fact that fashion trends keep changing all the time does not help the situation. New and different styles are constantly being introduced, and almost every designer releases a new collection every 3 to 4 months. That means the fabric requirement is enormous, and a lot of fabric must be made to meet the demands. All of this incurs excessive energy usage, producing carbon emissions and badly polluting the environment.

The Need to Fight Global Warming

Global Warming is upon us, and if you look around, you will see many countries experiencing extremes of temperatures. All of us will have to take measures to avert this threat and try to lessen its disastrous effects.

We at Artmill understand this danger to humanity and believe using renewable energy is the way of the future. Reducing the use of fossil fuels and preventing pollution are key considerations in the fight against Global Warming. This is why we have made use of different renewable energy sources for our day-to-day operations, one of them being solar power.

The Advantages of Solar Power

Solar power is great for a country like Pakistan, which sees more summer months and gets sunlight almost all year round. In addition, most industries have a lot of space to install solar power plants. However, it has many other advantages, such as:

● Saves on Energy

This is perhaps the most crucial advantage of solar energy. It helps save on fuel which can be used elsewhere. Solar energy is a clean and reliable solution to fuel-generated electricity.

● Helps Reduce Costs

Electricity costs are bound to increase over time. However, solar power will cost the same throughout. The plants just need maintenance from time to time.

● Reduces Carbon Emission

Solar energy helps reduce the carbon footprint, in turn helping the environment remain healthy and clean. Excessive pollution by carbon dioxide is what is harming our surroundings and damaging the ozone. Solar energy helps in battling this.

Artmill’s Reliance on Renewable Energy Sources

Artmill believes in taking sensible initiatives, one of which is also making people aware of the disastrous effects of carbon prints and waste that accumulates because of industry operations. We do not only want to educate people about all this but have also taken several initiatives to ensure we create an eco-friendly workspace.

For this purpose, we have been using not just solar energy but wind and hydropower as well to power our factory and all its operations. We even have proper wind farms supplying around 100 MW of renewable energy to the national grid, lighting many homes and benefiting the surroundings in a good way.
